Bio

Bei Bei began her journey with the guqin, the ancient seven-string Chinese zither, in 2000 while studying music at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. She has studied Guqin with renowned guqin musician Leung Lai Wan, Zhang Qing Chong and Zeng Xiao Gang. She is an internationally-acclaimed guzheng performer, known for her innovative style and cross-cultural collaborations.

Now based in Los Angeles and Orange County, California, Bei Bei actively performs both guzheng and guqin, dedicated to sharing the beauty of traditional Chinese music with audiences of all backgrounds.

In May 2025, she released her first guqin and downtempo electronic music single, Walk the Fame—an original collaboration with UK musician and producer Paul Elliott. The track has received international attention and acclaim for its innovative fusion of ancient and modern sounds.

Bei Bei also collaborates with renowned Chinese brush calligrapher Johnson Sun, presenting performances that combine live guqin music with the art of brush calligraphy to create immersive, multi-sensory cultural experiences.

She has also recorded guqin for the popular video game League of Legends, with music composed by Min He, bringing the timeless voice of the instrument into a contemporary digital medium.

Looking ahead, Bei Bei will collaborate with dancer Rongna Su in September 2025 on a unique project that blends guqin music with dance meditation, offering audiences a journey into wellness, mindfulness, and personal discovery through movement and sound.

In addition to her creative projects, Bei Bei completed a five-concert tour at Orange County Public Libraries in May 2025, followed by a performance at the Azusa City Summer Concert Series in June. Her work continues to receive enthusiastic praise and heartfelt appreciation from audiences across cultures.

古琴人荷蓓蓓簡介

荷蓓蓓於2000年開始學習古琴，這是一種有著七條弦的中國古老樂器，當時她正在香港演藝學院攻讀音樂。她先後從師古琴名家梁麗雲、張慶崇和曾曉剛，深受傳統琴藝薰陶與啟發。同時，她也是享譽國際的古箏演奏家，以創新的風格與跨文化的合作聞名。

目前定居於美國加州的洛杉磯與橙縣，荷蓓蓓積極演奏古箏與古琴，致力於向各種文化背景的觀眾傳遞中國傳統音樂之美。

2025年5月，她發行了首支古琴與緩拍電子音樂單曲《Walk the Fame》，這是她與英國音樂人暨製作人 Paul Elliott 的原創合作作品。此曲因融合古典與現代音樂風格而受到國際關注與讚譽。

荷蓓蓓也與著名書法家孫曉華合作，透過現場古琴演奏與毛筆書法結合的形式，呈現出沉浸式、多感官的文化藝術體驗。

她亦曾為熱門電玩遊戲《英雄聯盟》（League of Legends）錄製古琴，由作曲家何旻創作音樂，展現古琴在當代媒體中的嶄新表現力。

展望未來，荷蓓蓓將於2025年9月與舞蹈家蘇蓉娜合作，推出融合古琴音樂與舞蹈冥想的特別計畫，帶領觀眾透過音樂與身體的結合進入身心療癒、覺察與探索之旅。

除了創作外，荷蓓蓓於2025年5月完成橙縣公共圖書館的五場巡迴音樂會，並於6月參與阿蘇薩市夏季音樂會系列的演出。她的表演持續獲得來自不同文化觀眾的熱烈迴響與由衷讚賞。
